Fota Island Resort delighted to announce significant new partnership with Mardyke Arena University College Cork

Fota Island Resort is delighted to announce a significant new partnership with the Mardyke Arena University College Cork, a unique partnership in Cork – in fact, probably unique in Ireland – because no two venues have come together to offer such comparably high quality training facilities. A flexible and bespoke arrangement, tailor-made to each sporting team, club or individuals, the combination of access to the facilities at the Mardyke Arena University College Cork and Fota Island Resort is designed to assist sportspeople across all codes with their professional sporting development.

The award winning Mardyke Arena University College Cork from the rehab / physiotherapy clinic with its medical Hydrotherapy Pool and 2 Alter G Anti Gravity Treadmills, fitness gyms including a dedicated Team Strength & Conditioning Gym, Indoor Running Track, Performance Analysis Laboratory and Centre of Excellence, the facilities on offer are on a par with the facilities of the top English Premier League clubs and are internationally recognised.

Catering equally superbly to business, leisure and corporate guests, Fota Island Resort is also the regular choice of national and international sportspeople and teams as a training venue before significant sporting events and a recuperation and relaxation centre afterwards, due to its excellent training and recovery facilities.

The offering of the exclusive use of the Mardyke Arena University College Cork facilities along with the outstanding quality of Fota’s pitches, access to Fota Island Spa and the luxurious 5 star accommodation allied to relaxed privacy at Fota Island Resort, is what makes this partnership so special.

Designed to enhance the offering of both, the new Fota Island Resort and the Mardyke Arena University College Cork partnership was launched today at the Resort, by Gaelic footballer Tomás Ó Sé, the country’s longest-serving inter-county footballer and Hull City midfielder, recently capped for the international side, David Meyler.

“Here at Fota Island Resort we are delighted to partner with University College Cork’s excellent Mardyke Arena,” says CEO of Fota Island Resort, Jonathan Woods. “We are looking forward to a fruitful partnership, which will benefit not just each organisation, but also the very many sportspeople from all codes who use both our facilities.”

General Manager of the Mardyke Arena University College Cork, Patsy Ryan also welcomed the new partnership. “The Mardyke Arena University College Cork are excited to create a brand new and strategic relationship with Fota Island Resort. The high calibre of this partnership makes it a sure bet for professional and amateur sportsmen and women alike, and we are enthusiastic about the strength of our joint offering as well as the good work we can do together. It certainly provides Cork with the real opportunity to offer a World Class Training Camp venue for National and International Sports Teams”
