The new Matrix IC7 is the ultimate power-based indoor bike programmed to re-establish how instructors and participants experience indoor cycling in the studio. The IC7 Indoor Cycle along with its Coach By Color® power program and MyRide software brings optimal performance and opportunity to group exercise, team coaching and personal training.
World-class technology and member-centric coaching will make your program more colorful, more powerful and definitely more original.
New Indoor Cycling Schedule
We will now be running a wide range of spinning classes (Monday – Sunday) from February 2015.
For more details on the various types of classes please see below.
About the Classes
Coach by Color® (CBC)
The IC7’s Coach By Color® monitor makes training simple. It uses colour as a form of communication between the trainer and the user to maximize instruction, motivation and reward during your workouts. The monitor’s display lights up in one of five colored zones that matches the user’s WattRate® (power) output so they know immediately whether they need to turn up down the resistance dial. Plus, the integrated front LED display on each console tells instructors when certain users are working too hard or not hard enough! The five colours represent different training zones.
Myride®+ delivers a sensational Indoor Cycling video experience to our new Indoor Cycling studio. Our new Myride classes will provide live classes to forward-motion videos. Experience different terrains from uphill climbs in France to off road trails in the US, your instructor will design a full 50 minute class of virtual forward motion cycling.
Functional Threshold Wattrate (FTW) Test
Exclusive to our new Matrix IC7 Indoor bikes, the FTW (power) test makes it possible to determine a user‘s individual FTW value in an evaluation test, or to monitor the fitness progress. This FTW value will make the training zones specific to the user. As we are not all of the same strength or fitness level, the FTW test will determine level of resistance you need to work at to get you in the correct training zone. The test is designed as a “ramp test“. As soon as the test is started, a target value of 75 watts (+/- 10%) is specified. The user taking the test is now requested to use the resistance dial to maintain the required target watt and keep a constant and comfortable cadence of between 70 and 90 RPM throughout the entire test. The target watt value increases every 4 minutes by 25 watts. The test can be ended at any time. We recommend that all indoor cyclists take the test once every 4-6 weeks, as a means of monitoring progress and to ensure you are working at the correct level.
