New Home Workout, Live Fitness Classes & Physio Consultations - Check It Out

Happy National Workplace Wellbeing Day! 

Today, we are delighted to announce details of our live online fitness class programme starting next week, details of our Physiotherapy Consultation Service with our Chartered Physiotherapists at the arena clinic and release a new home workout video. 

Live Online Fitness Classes

Starting on Monday 4th May, the Mardyke Arena UCC will be running live Fitness Classes via the Mardyke Arena UCC Facebook page.

Please see below Fitness Class schedule:

  • Monday - HIIT - 6pm
  • Tuesday - Legs, Bums & Tums - 6pm
  • Wednesday - Pilates for All - 6pm (Premiere)
  • Thursday - Legs, Bums & Tums - 6pm
  • Friday - HIIT - 1pm

Physio Consultations

the arena clinic based at the Mardyke Arena UCC is a unique clinic, incorporating physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and specialist rehabilitation equipment. The clinic is staffed with highly skilled physiotherapists treating all musculoskeletal and medical problems.

As part of the Keeping Cork Healthy campaign the arena clinic are offering free consultations to the Cork Community during this time. If you or a family member have any queries, get in touch by emailing the arenaclinic@ucc.ie and one of our Chartered Physiotherapists will follow up with you.
 

Home Workout

Pick up the pace in today's exercise video with some HIIT!

This High-Intensity Interval Training workout includes everything from Burpees, Side Shuffles, Inch Worms, High Knees, Squat Jumps, Push Ups, Ice Skaters and Plank Jacks.

 

Also pick up a copy of The Echo print edition every Saturday where we give readers weekly tips on how they can stay fit and also share some healthy recipes as part of our Keeping Cork Healthy campaign.

This week launches the start of The Physio Corner, where the Chartered Physiotherapists at the arena clinic will be giving weekly advice. In addition you will find, family games that can be played at home, advice on the best supplements to use to boost the immune system, a healthy smoothie recipe and tips from boxer Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan.
