Mardyke Arena University College Cork, one of Ireland’s largest indoor sports arenas and recipient of four ISO International Standards in Quality, Health & Safety, Energy and Environment will official reopen on Monday 13th July 2020 at 07.00.

The final touches are being made to the Mardyke Arena University College Cork to make sure that it is safe for staff and members to return on Monday 13th July 2020.

The reopening will follow government and public health guidance, along with significant operational changes introduced to make sure that when staff and members return to the facility, they can do so in a safe and healthy environment.

We have made significant changes to the layout of our fitness gyms and fitness class studios, including the provision of a new expansive studio, details available on our website www.mardykearena.com and we are happy to reassure all staff and members that the Mardyke Arena UCC will be one of the safest indoor sports facilities in Ireland when we reopen.

There will be signs guiding staff and members on how to act safely and responsibly and we will strongly promote the message to staff and members that we must ‘work together’ as we endeavour to ensure the highest standards of hygiene, sanitisation and safety. Social distancing will become the norm and we are fortunate that in the Mardyke Arena UCC we have the space to implement such requirements.

The first few weeks when we reopen our main services will be swimming, fitness gyms, the Arena Clinic (Physiotherapy & Rehab) and children’s summer camps. We will re-introduce other services and facilities in the weeks ahead, but slowly!

The biggest change from an operational perspective will see all members having to pre-book their time and visit to the Arena. This measure is required in order to ensure we manage permitted occupancy levels and meet protocols relating to contact tracing.
