Mardyke Arena UCC is an accredited NICAS Awarding Centre, offering climbing courses for all skill levels. We deliver Level 1-3 of the NICAS scheme, providing children (ages 7-17) and adults with the skills to become safe and confident climbers.

Ever wanted to try climbing? Here’s your opportunity!
This course is perfect for complete beginners and designed to teach you the essential skills for safe and competent indoor climbing.
- What You’ll Learn: Under the guidance of our qualified instructors, you’ll cover everything needed to build your confidence and climb independently.
- Equipment: All necessary equipment, including climbing shoes, is provided.
- Cost: €60 for members, UCC staff, and UCC students | €70 for non-members
- Minimum Requirement: A minimum of 6 participants is required to run this course.
Please note: NICAS logbooks are also required and can be purchased at main reception for €9.
Children's NICAS Climbing Courses (Ages 7-17)
Our NICAS courses offer a safe, fun, and structured introduction to indoor climbing, helping young climbers build essential skills under the guidance of our qualified instructors.

- Sundays: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM / 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
