  Cork City FC The Mardyke Arena are now the preferred fitness, strength and conditioning, performance analysis and player rehabilitation provider for Cork City FC over the next four years. The partnership commenced on the 1st January 2013. The partnership involves full breakdown analysis of all games, supervised strength & conditioning sessions, team fitness testing, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
 

Fota Island Resort

Fota Island Resort The Mardyke Arena UCC are delighted to announce a significant new partnership with Fota Island Resort, a unique partnership in Cork – in fact, probably unique in Ireland – because no two venues have come together to offer such comparably high quality training facilities. A flexible and bespoke arrangement, tailor-made to each sporting team, club or individuals, the combination of access to the facilities at the Mardyke Arena University College Cork and Fota Island Resort is designed to assist sportspeople across all codes with their professional sporting development.

 

The award winning Mardyke Arena University College Cork from the rehab / physiotherapy clinic with its medical Hydrotherapy Pool and 2 Alter G Anti Gravity Treadmills, fitness gyms including a dedicated Team Strength & Conditioning Gym, Indoor Running Track, Performance Analysis Laboratory and Centre of Excellence, the facilities on offer are on a par with the facilities of the top English Premier League clubs and are internationally recognised.

Catering equally superbly to business, leisure and corporate guests, Fota Island Resort is also the regular choice of national and international sportspeople and teams as a training venue before significant sporting events and a recuperation and relaxation centre afterwards, due to its excellent training and recovery facilities.

Rebel ÓG Chorcaí

  Rebal Og The contract means that the Arena will be the high performance facility partner to Rebel Óg until 2016. Rebel Óg is the exciting new initiative by Cork G.A.A. to promote, develop and organise Gaelic Games in Cork for players up to the age of eighteen. The partnership involves fitness camps that includes strength and conditioning sessions, fitness testing, performance analysis and educational talks of nutrition & diet.

The Mardyke Arena is the high performance facility partner for a number of UCC Sport teams.

The Mardyke Arena is working with the following teams at present over a number of areas including Performance Analysis and Strength & Conditioning:

The Mardyke Arena UCC is delighted to have Skechers on board as the exclusive footwear partner of the Mardyke Arena Indoor Running Track. As part of the partnership all Mardyke Arena UCC members are entitled to a 20% discount in all Skechers stores.

Carrigtwohill G.A.A

  Carrigtwohill GAA Carrigtwohill Senior Hurlers have signed up for Performance Analysis for the Championship Season. The partnership involves the filming & full breakdown analysis of all championship games.
     
 

Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS)

  Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS)

The Mardyke Arena is an approved training centre accredited by the Royal Lifesaving Society.

The RLSS is an education and training skills organisation for water safety, aquatic supervision and drowning prevention. The RLSS is a charity and a governing body for lifesaving sport and lead industry body for training lifeguards, setting standards and providing guidance and advice on aquatic safety.

To enable these aims to be achieved, the Society's members spend considerable time:

  • Promoting water safety education and life support in the community
  • Training lifesavers and lifeguards in the areas of accident prevention, survival, rescue, life support, emergency aftercare and first aid
  • Researching the causes and effects of drowning
  • Developing educational resources and technical expertise
 

Swim Ireland

The Mardyke Arena is an approved training centre accredited by Swim Ireland.

Swim Ireland (a company limited by guarantee) is the National Governing Body forswimming, water-polo, diving and associated aquatic disciplines in Ireland. Theorganisation was formed in 1893 and adopted the trading name of Swim Irelandin 1998. It incorporates the Irish Swimming Association, the Irish Water PoloAssociation and Swimming Teachers and Coaches in Ireland.

There are a number of both Swim Teacher & Assistant Swim Teacher Courses held throughout each year at the Mardyke Arena.

 

National Training Centre (NTC)

The Mardyke Arena is an approved training centre accredited by the National Training Centre.

The National Training Centre exists to provide education and training in the areas of complementary medical healthcare and health related fitness which lead to industry recognised national qualifications.

There are a number of courses held throughout each year at the Mardyke Arena ranging from Neuromuscular & Physical Therapy to Exercise, Health Studies & Personal Training.

 

Mountaineering Ireland

  Mountaineering Ireland

The Mardyke Arena is an approved training centre accredited by Mountaineering Ireland.

Mountaineering Ireland is the representative body for walkers and climbers in Ireland. It is recognised as the NGB (National Governing Body) for mountaineering by both the Irish Sports Council (ISC) and Sport Northern Ireland (SNI).

There are a number of both Adult & Children Courses held throughout each year at the Mardyke Arena.

   

Atlantia Food Clinical Trials Ltd

  Atlantia Food Clinical Trials Ltd

The Mardyke Arena is the preferred partner of Atlantia for clinical trials in the area of sports nutrition and physical performance. Our conditioning coaches work closely with the Atlantia medical experts and project managers to design the best clinical studies and primary/secondary outcome measurements. We are involved in all steps of the clinical study to ensure compliance with the clinical programme and the subsequent study assessments. Trials can be designed to asses both single consumption products (e.g. sports drink or energy bar) versus long term consumption (e.g. protein for sports recovery, building muscle).

The expertise that the Mardyke provides for Atlantia clinical trials includes:

  • Access to state of the art training equipment, including aerobic and weights (using FitLinxx computerised system to analyse volunteer training programmes)
  • Design of tailor-made training programmes and assessments, e.g. resistance, endurance, strength
  • Clinical research suites suitable for interviewing volunteers and collecting clinical data/samples
  • Human performance laboratory
