Tape can be a useful adjunct to therapy, to immobilise or stabilise a joint. Taping techniques can also be used to facilitate muscles to work correctly or reduce activity in overactive muscles. Therapists at the clinic are also trained in the use of Kinesio-tape and Dynamic taping techniques, which can be beneficial with sports injuries or to manage chronic swelling or lymphoedema.
Dynamic tape enables the wearer to move through full range of movement without limitation but with strong biomechanical assistance. The tape is applied to mimic the action of the injured muscle/tendon and in turn reducing the eccentric work of the muscle.
