Card Abuse Policy
Over recent weeks the Mardyke Arena UCC have noticed that there has been abuse of membership cards amongst a small cohort of our members. All members must have their membership card with them in order to gain access to the Arena. At no point, should another person use your membership card.
The following policy will be enforced with immediate effect:
- Membership cards will be spot checked from time-to-time, by Duty Manager’s, Reception staff and/or others appointed from time to time.
- Where a person is using another member’s card, the following procedures should be implemented:

- Access will be denied.
- Membership card will be confiscated.
- The membership will be automatically suspended until they meet with the Duty Manager on duty at their next visit.
- Following meeting with the Duty Manager, the member will be informed that any future misuse of his/her card will result in their membership being cancelled with immediate effect.
Price Increases
As a consequence of the current high levels of inflation both in Ireland and throughout, the European Union we regret to inform you that we will be increasing some of our prices from the 1st November 2022.
The following membership rates will increase from the 1st November: Student Partner, Lifestyle 55 Plus, Over 65’s, UCC Staff & Short Term Memberships. Membership fees will only increase on the next renewal date of your membership.
In addition to memberships, our fitness class rates will also increase for both members and non-members.
We regret that we have to increase prices at this stage however you will appreciate that our cost base has increased enormously over the past 10-months, and we therefore have no choice but to implement increases.

New Equipment Installed in the Green & Blue Gyms
As from Wednesday 19th October, the Mardyke Arena UCC have expanded our free weight matted area which also includes an area for Core work in both our Green and Blue gyms.
The new equipment includes two multi-Function dual cable machines, seven free weight benches, and multiple sets of dumbbells ranging from 1kg -25kg.
October Bank Holiday Weekend
The Mardyke Arena UCC will be open from 10:00 – 19:00 on Monday 31st October. No classes or courses take place on the bank holiday Monday.
The following classes will run on Saturday 29th October:
- 09:15 Power Ball with Olga
- 10:15 Pilates Fusion with Olga
The Blue Gym will close at 18:00 on Friday 28th October and reopen Tuesday November 1st at 08:00.
Programme of the Month
A monthly programme is available for all members. Designed by our Fitness instructors, to offer you variety and to get the most from your workouts.

UCC Student Inductions
Whether you are new to the Arena or need a recap, during the 30-minute induction you will be explained how to use all equipment in the gym and given the Programme of the Month to get you on your way.
Upcoming Reformer Pilates Courses

Climbing Wall Courses
The Mardyke Arena UCC is an accredited NICAS Awarding Centre, delivering certified courses for children. The National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme is designed to provide novice climbers with a structured and progressive programme of training & development to become competent indoor climbers.
Booking is now open for our upcoming Courses. Course will commence from 19th & 20th November.
